Illumination
Schott EasyLED Illumination Options: Precision Lighting for Advanced Microscopy
Schott’s EasyLED series provides robust, energy-efficient LED illumination solutions for stereo microscopy, featuring specialized variants tailored to diverse applications. Designed for seamless integration and maintenance-free operation, these systems replace traditional fiber-optic illuminators with superior performance.
Key options include:
Ring Lights
- Standard Ring Light: Delivers homogeneous, shadow-free illumination (90 klux) via a durable anodized metal housing and integrated heat sink.
- Ring Light Plus: Enhances contrast with eight controllable LED segments and an intuitive “jog dial” for rotating segments or switching modes (e.g. partial/full ring). Boasts 140 klux brightness and fits 66 mm objectives (adapters for 58/60 mm available).
- Applications: Ideal for highly reflective specimens or demanding industrial environments.

Back Lights
- Features SCHOTT Opalika® glass for flawless homogeneity and scratch resistance.
- Provides uniform illumination (12,000 cd/m²) across a 50 mm diameter area, with continuous dimming (0–100%).
- Design: Compact controller integrated into the head; compatible with microscope stands (84–180 mm diameter).
- Applications: Optimized for transparent specimens in quality control or life sciences.

Spot Lights
- Spot Light Plus Single: One adjustable head emitting 130–140 lm.
- Spot Light Plus Double: Two independently controlled heads with alternating switching and cooling lamellae to prevent specimen heating. Mounts via goosenecks on posts (20–35 mm) or standalone bases.
- Advantages: Ergonomic dimming near microscope focus controls; robust metal housing.
- Applications: Detailed macro analysis requiring directional or shadow-contrast lighting.

Accessories
- Optical: Polarization filters (high extinction ratio), color filters (red/blue/green/yellow), and diffusers to eliminate LED reflections.
- Mechanical: Mounting brackets for diverse stands, BOROFLOAT® glass shields for harsh environments, and tubular diffusers for reflective objects.

Shared Advantages Across All Options
- 50,000-hour LED lifespan with consistent daylight color temperature (5600 K).
-
Integrated controllers for dimming and mode switching; no external boxes needed for ring/back lights.
-
Global compatibility: 100–240 V power supplies, CE-certified, and adaptable to OEM microscopes (Leica, Zeiss, etc.).
-
Rugged construction: Anodized metal housings for industrial or lab use.
